Can I attend a Council for Women’s ConcernsMeetings if I’m not a member or an affiliate member?
Yes, everyone is welcome to attend and participate in our monthly meetings. The meeting schedule is available on our Events page.
What kinds of committees exist?
Committees
include the Executive Committee, Outreach Committee, Campus
Climate Committee, Power-Based Personal Violence Prevention/Education
Committee, Wellness Committee, Awards and Membership Committee, and Women of
Color Committee. You can find out more about the goals of each committee on our Committees page.
Can I be on more than one committee?
As a member or
affiliate member, you can join more than one committee, as your
time and energy allow.
Do I need to know someone from the Council to
become a member?
No.
Previously, we allowed applicants the option to share the name of a current Council member who could
endorse their application. We removed this option from the application, as it
implies that applicants with an endorsement may receive preferential treatment. As a Council, we recognize
the exclusive nature of this question and are actively working on ways to
make our membership more inclusive.
